Spring House

This project involved the thoughtful renovation of a characterful cottage, enhancing its flow and functionality while respecting its original charm.
In the sitting room, an enclosed entrance hallway was introduced to improve privacy and structure, allowing the living space to feel more contained and intimate. Soft layers, natural tones and collected furnishings bring depth and comfort without overpowering the room’s cottage proportions.
The family bathroom balances tradition with practicality. A freestanding bath provides a focal point, paired with a generous walk-in shower for modern ease. Half panelling, rustic-inspired flooring and a repurposed wooden vanity add texture and warmth, creating a relaxed yet timeless feel.
Working within a modest budget, a previously dark cellar was transformed into a cosy wine cellar and study. Reclaimed timber lining introduces warmth, texture and added insulation, while bespoke wine storage maximises functionality. Original beams and cottage-style doors were retained to preserve the space’s character.
Together, the spaces feel traditional, yet thoughtfully adapted for modern living.
