Project Spring Rise

Family home in West Sussex. The brief was a warm, inviting, and sophisticated interior design style, blending classic, vintage, and modern influences.

Library

This space was previously a second dining room that was rarely used. To give it purpose and function, we transformed it into a library, designing a custom-built bookcase to maximize storage and create a cozy, intimate atmosphere.

Since the client is a wine enthusiast, we incorporated a dedicated wine storage area within the bookcase. The cabinetry was painted in Vineland by Benjamin Moore, a warm, muted green to add a sense of calm to the space.

Sitting Room

This space was originally a long, open, and characterless room. To create definition and separation while maintaining an open feel, we added walls and sliding doors between the library and sitting area.

We painted the walls and ceiling in F&B Skimming Stone to enhance the warmth and tie in with the wood elements of the room.

Sitting Room

The client appreciates global influences, so we tried to reflect this in the curated selection of pieces. The antique Chinese lacquered cabinet discreetly houses the TV, while a large black Chinese water butt, sourced at an auction was used as a vase to add contrast.

The console table crafted from Indonesian teak displays a pair of Art Deco brass lamps, also sourced by us. To bring some sophisticated architectural detail and warmth, we added a travertine fire surround.
